Privacy Policy
1. APPLICATION OF PRIVACY PRINCIPLES
1.1 We are bound by the National Privacy Principles, which aim to ensure that organisations that handle personal information about individuals do so in a responsible manner. The National Privacy Principles commenced on 21 December 2001.
2. EXEMPTIONS
2.1 Despite paragraph 1.1, an act done, or practice engaged in, by us:
Organisations acting under Commonwealth Contract
(a) where:
(i) we are a Contracted Service Provider for a Commonwealth Contract;
(ii) we would be a Small Business Operator if we were not a Contracted Service Provider for a Commonwealth Contract; and
(iii) the act is done, or practice engaged in, otherwise than for the purposes of meeting an obligation under a Commonwealth Contract for which we are the Contracted Service Provider;
Employee Records
(b) that is directly related to:
(i) a current or former employment relationship between us and you; and
(ii) an Employee Record held by us and relating to you;
Journalism
(c) if the act is done, or the practice is engaged in:
(i) by us in the course of journalism; and
(ii) at a time when we are committed to observe the standards that:
(A) deal with privacy in the context of the activities of a Media Organisation ; and
(B) have been published in writing by us or a person or body representing a class of Media Organisations;
Organisations acting under State Contract
(d) where:
(i) we are a Contracted Service Provider for a State Contract; and
(ii) the act is done, or practice engaged in, for the purposes of meeting an obligation under that contract.
(e) where the act is done or the practice is engaged in:
(i) for the purposes of meeting an obligation under a contract between the contractor and a political party registered under Part XI of the Commonwealth Electoral Act
1918 (Cth) ('Registered Political Party') or a Political Representative; and
(ii) in connection with:
(A) an election under a law of the Commonwealth, a law of a State or Territory, relating to elections to a Parliament, or to a local government authority;
(B) a referendum under a law of the Commonwealth or a law of a State or Territory;
(C) the participation in another aspect of the political process by the Registered Political Party or Political Representative; or
(D) facilitating acts or practices of the Registered Political Party or Political Representative for a purpose mentioned in paragraph 2.1(e)(ii)(A),
2.1(e)(ii)(B) or 2.1(e)(ii)(C);
Volunteers for Registered Political Parties
(f) where the act is done, or a practice engaged in, voluntarily for or on behalf of a Registered Political Party and with the authority of that party in connection with:
(i) an election under a law of the Commonwealth, a law of a State or Territory,
relating to elections to a Parliament, or to a local government authority;
(ii) a referendum under a law of the Commonwealth or a law of a State or Territory;
(iii) participation in another aspect of the political process by the Registered Political Party; or
(iv) facilitating acts or practices of the Registered Political Party for a purpose mentioned in paragraph 2.1(f)(i), 2.1(f)(ii) or 2.1(f)(iii); is exempt from the National Privacy Principles.
3. INFORMATION HELD
3.1 We may hold the following personal information about you:
(a) All information supplied to us via our electronic forms or information supplied by facsimile or provided to us in personal interviews or telephone conversations.
4. PURPOSE OF INFORMATION HELD
4.1 We may hold personal information about you for the following purposes:
(A) Marketing Purposes
(B) Sales Purposes
5. COLLECTION
5.1 We may collect personal information about you in any of the following ways:
(A) Electronically
(B) From written information supplied by you to us, be it by facsimile, contractual information between the parties, posted information by you or from surveys undertaken.
6. STORAGE
6.1 We may store personal information about you in any of the following ways:
(A) Electronically
(B) Stored records of documents received, scanned letters of correspondence and retained survey forms.
(C) Contractual information between the parties
7. USE AND DISCLOSURE
7.1 We may use or disclose personal information about you in any of the following ways:
(A) Information will be held and provided to external parties only if required by law.
(B) Where a request is made for follow up on a sales enquiry, information submitted will be made available to sales employees or designated affiliates of SCVGROUP Pty Ltd.
(C) Information collected will not be sold or used other than for the purpose it was intended for.

Personal Information means information, whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained from that information, regardless of its source. Commonwealth Contract means a contract, to which the Commonwealth or a Commonwealth government agency is or was a party, under which services are to be, or were to be, provided to an agency.
Contracted Service Provider, for a Commonwealth or State Contract, means:
(a) an Organisation that is or was a party to the Commonwealth or State Contract and that is or was responsible for the provision of services to an agency or a State or Territory authority under the Commonwealth or State Contract; or
(b) a subcontractor for the Commonwealth or State Contract. Small Business Operator means an Organisation with an annual turnover of $3,000,000 or less unless it:
(a) has previously had an annual turnover of greater than $3,000,000;
(b) is related to a business that has an annual turnover of greater than $3,000,000;
(c) provides a health service and holds health information other than in an Employee Record;
(d) discloses Personal Information about another individual to anyone else for a benefit, service or advantage (unless it does so with the consent of the individual concerned or is required or authorised to do so under legislation);
(e) provides a benefit, service or advantage to collect Personal Information about another individual from anyone else (unless it does so with the consent of the individual concerned or is required or authorised to do so under legislation);
(f) is a Contracted Service Provider for a Commonwealth Contract (even if it is not a party to the contract);
(g) is prescribed by regulation, or opts in, to the contrary. Employee Record, in relation to an employee, means a record of Personal Information relating to the employment of the employee, including, but not limited to, health information about the employee and Personal Information about:
(a) the engagement, training, disciplining or resignation of the employee;
(b) the termination of the employment of the employee;
(c) the terms and conditions of the employment of the employee;
(d) the employee's personal and emergency contact details;
(e) the employee's performance and conduct;
(f) the employee's hours of employment;
(g) the employee's salary or wages;
(h) the employee's membership of a professional or trade association;
(i) the employee's trade union membership;
(j) the employee's recreation, long service, sick, personal, maternity, paternity or other leave; or
(k) the employee's taxation, bank or superannuation affairs;
Media Organisation means an Organisation whose activities consist of the collection, preparation and dissemination of news, current affairs, information or documentaries. State Contract means a contract, to which a State or Territory or State or Territory authority is or was a party, under which services are to be, or were to be, provided to a State or Territory authority.
